There were 36 total single family resales for the month of October, 2012 ranging in price from $231,100 to $1,195,000. In September, 2012, there were a total 27 Parkland Single Family Resales. There was 9 more Parkland single family homes sold in the month of October, 2012 than in September, 2012. Among the October sales, 16 were distressed sales (bank foreclosures or short sales). 44% of all sales were distresses ones.

In October 2012, just under half of the monthly sales were distressed sales.  As we get closer to the end of the year, more and more banks are looking to close their bank foreclosure and short sale inventory for tax purposes as the end of 2012 nears.  Typically, in the past 6-12 months, distressed sales have only accounted for approximately 25-30% of all single family sales in Parkland, Florida.  It is actually a good thing that short sales, are being sold, as banks and lending institutions become more organized and work with homeowners in distress.
