Parkland Parrot Supports Parkland Buddy Sports No Limits Park

Parkland Buddy Sports Seeks No Limits Park In Parkland Wedge

parkland-buddy-sportsRecently, Parkland Buddy Sports presented their case to the Parkland City Commission to build a No Limits Park in the Parkland Wedge area.  As many homeowners know already, Parkland Buddy Sports is a non-profit organization for special-needs children and their families to come together for weekly games such as soccer, kickball, basketball, flag football, tennis and running.  Parkland Buddies recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary.

Many Parkland students in middle school and high school perform community service hours working with the Parkland Buddy Sports program.  The lessons and experience is priceless for the Parkland youth to experience the unfortunate realities and tremendous courage of these less fortunate.  Founder, Jeb Niewood believes the No Limits Park will be a place where every element is inviting, accessible, and safe for the buddies.  Jeb and the the organization are proposing a 20-acre portion of the newly incorporated Wedge area.  A prominent developer has come forward and announces that his company would help with the plans to help build the park.

In a recent article in the Sun-Sentinel, Mayor Michael Udine stated, “I don’t real think it’s that much of a dollar-centric questions.  I think it should be done just because it’s the right thing to do.”With the help of the City Commission and the residents of Parkland, the No Limits Park can be history-making.  As a resident of Parkland, I call upon other residents to join the push to make this park a reality.

Parkland Buddy Sports is an all-volunteer program that has certainly brought a lot of attention to our community.  Our city can continue to help the program into the future.  As we build our community, we can also help build the Parkland Buddy program grow.  I personally support this great organization.  I encourage everyone to visit the website: Parkland Buddy Sports and get involved.
