Parkland Favorite Grifs Western Store Destroyed In Fire

Grifs, a South Florida and local landmark business for more than 40 years, caught fire early Saturday morning. Passing motorists noticed the fire and contacted authorities.  Unfortunately, despite the efforts of over 100 firefighters that tried to put out the fires for several hours, Grif’s could not be saved.

The large fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday morning at the popular western clothing and feed store.  Owner Al Griffin, whose family has been in South Florida since 1908, plans on rebuilding Grif’s, which has attracted customers from all over the world.  Many Parkland residents, especially in the equestrian communities, were saddened to hear about the fire.  The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the local authorities are still investigating.  We will certainly keep our readers posted when new information becomes available.
